THE ROLE The Order to Cash Product Manager role is part of the Product organization responsible for Financial technology systems across Block, including Finance and Strategy (F&S), Controllership, Tax, Treasury and Procurement. In this role, you will work with senior business stakeholders to understand and define the requirements for transforming how our financial systems function to enable our next wave of growth. Identifying automation opportunities by improving the underlying financial data platforms to enable AI and automation capabilities will be key to success. Key outcomes of this work will be automating our monthly close process, building new data products to provide our F&S team with higher quality data more quickly, and working across multiple business unit reconciliation processes to improve overall GL health. This position will work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with aggressive timelines and often competing priorities. The candidate must have a solid foundation and understanding of finance fundamentals including planning, reporting, and analytics. This position will be asked to challenge the status quo and envision new ways of working that can be instantiated in our financial technology platforms (both existing and not-yet-imagined). ​​The position will work across functional teams to identify dependencies and bring attention to risks associated with the work of other functional teams. Business partnerships and communication will be critical across the F&S, Controllership, Tax, and other Finance organizations. The position will also work with external business integrators and systems integrators within the Procurement Transformation workstream. Success in this role will require creativity to re-imagine possible future processes that will enable our ability to scale through automation. The scope will include a range of financial planning requirements that will improve or create operational processes and automate key steps. In addition, this role will be a leader in our Product function and help drive greater maturity of Fe’s Product model. This includes defining and managing success metrics, OKRs, roadmap definition & delivery, and mentoring junior Product Managers. YOU WILL - Define and owns complex roadmaps / several related or adjacent roadmaps - Work with other senior leaders in Guidance Automation to define strategy and top-level company objectives - Make the final decision when issues are escalated - Work on highly complex problems that seldom have clear answers - Work through organizational complexity regularly - Prioritize competing objectives across Guidance product development and make hard trade-offs. Rarely relies on others to make these sorts of tough calls vs. doing oneself - An outstanding communicator across different settings and media - Relied on to develop buy in from executives and other senior stakeholders across the company through exceptional communication - Participate in corporate development projects to provide guidance on M&A activities - Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the industry as well as our business and Finance department objectives & requirements - Ensure privacy, regulatory, and security requirements are incorporated into all Financial products and roadmaps YOU HAVE - 12+ years of demonstrated success delivering broad and deep expertise that uniquely position this individual to meaningfully contribute to Block’s Guidance overall success. In delivering secure, business critical software, platform migrations, AI, data and cloud solutions in a highly regulated environment. - 12+ years of accounting and finance business processes experience. - Ability to understand complex business intent, identify gaps between current and desired future state, translate business requirements into required system functionality, and determine best viable path to meet current and future business needs while considering delivery time and tradeoffs for each decision - 12+ years of experience in developing strategies and launching data platform product capabilities - Experience in a highly complex global organizations operating within large-scale ERP systems - Broad knowledge of industry-standard Finance management practices and success leading organizations through an Agile transition, or successful use of Agile practices to regularly ship remarkable products with increasing velocity - Ability to remain adaptable and flexible.
