Back to jobs [https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/algolia]NewSENIOR PRODUCT MANAGER, COMPOSITION API London, EnglandApplyAlgolia helps businesses and developers understand their online users and show them exactly what they need. As a leader in AI search and discovery, we power over 1.8 trillion searches a year – four times more than Microsoft Bing, Yahoo, Baidu, Yandex and DuckDuckGo combined - for more than 18,000 customers from 100+ countries. THE MISSION Your product mission is to enable advanced search and discovery with results from diverse data sources and retrieval methods (e.g. search or generative AI responses). Algolia’s unified approach provides context-aware, dynamic results, meeting today’s user expectations for both diversity and relevance. Your team is building out the next generation of Algolia’s search APIs and the orchestration layer behind it, whilst enabling business users to efficiently curate their results. THE OPPORTUNITY As a Senior Product Manager at Algolia, you will be at the forefront of driving product strategy and execution. This role is critical in shaping our product offerings to meet market demands and exceed our customers' expectations. You will collaborate with cross-functional departments to deliver impactful results and contribute to the overall success of the organisation. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: - Drive product discovery to understand and define who for, why and what we’re building to deliver on the mission. - Formulate, agree and communicate the strategy, vision, and roadmap with all key stakeholders. - Whether it’s mocking up concepts, writing functional specs or drafting a copy - you’ll do whatever it takes to push your product throughout the end-to-end lifecycle, in collaboration with engineers, designers, other product managers and cross-functional collaborators. - Shape delivery processes and foster cross-functional team dynamics to deliver delightful, powerful products that exceed customer expectations and drive tangible business outcomes. - Build and nurture an agile and innovative product culture within the team, founded on the importance of continuous, iterative development. - Use analytical and quantitative skills to understand usage, inform prioritization and report on progress. - Understand the evolving competitive landscape and identify potential strategic partnerships for complementary product offerings. - Collaborate with cross-functional partners (legal, marketing, sales, customer success) to successfully launch products, drive adoption, and optimize customer retention. ROLE REQUIREMENTS: - B2B SaaS Expertise: Demonstrated success in driving product strategy and delivery in fast-paced B2B SaaS environments, ideally in infrastructure, developer platforms, or complex data products. - API Product Leadership: Proven experience building, launching, and scaling technically sophisticated products, especially those involving APIs, search or data processing. - Technical Fluency and Simplification: Ability to deeply understand technical domains, work closely with engineering to solve complex challenges, and translate technical capabilities into clear, customer-centric value propositions. - User Empathy Across Personas: Strong user intuition and empathy across a range of personas, from developers and technical architects to business stakeholders. Demonstrated success in collaborating with Product Design and Engineering to deliver intuitive, high-quality experiences. - Data-Informed Decision Making: Skilled in leveraging qualitative and quantitative insights to inform product strategy. Comfortable using analytics, experimentation, and customer feedback to measure success, prioritize work, and iterate effectively. - End-to-End Product Ownership: A strong track record of shipping impactful products and continuously improving them through agile development practices, cross-functional collaboration, and customer engagement. - Cross-Functional Influence and Execution: Exceptional collaboration skills with cross-functional partners - including engineering, design, product marketing, sales, and support - to align teams, drive execution, and bring products successfully to market. - Excellent Communication Skills: Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities, with a talent for framing complex ideas clearly for different audiences (executives, internal stakeholders, and customers) alike. WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU STAND OUT: - Expertise in search & recommendations engines. - Experience in both zero-to-one efforts and continuous optimisation at enterprise scale. - Technical background, applied to customer-facing industry and business problems. - Experience in or good understanding of eCommerce and/or media. - If no prior experience: ability and willingness to learn about specific industry trends and ecosystems, most importantly eCommerce. WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO CAN LIVE OUR VALUES: - GRIT - Problem-solving and perseverance capability in an ever-changing and growing environment - TRUST - Willingness to trust our co-workers and to take ownership - CANDOR - Ability to receive and give constructive feedback. - CARE - Genuine care about other team members, our clients, and the decisions we make in the company. - HUMILITY - Aptitude for learning from others, putting ego aside. FLEXIBLE WORKPLACE STRATEGY: Algolia’s flexible workplace model is designed to empower all Algolians to fulfill our mission to power search and discovery with ease. We place an emphasis on an individual’s impact, contribution, and output, over their physical location. Algolia is a high-trust environment and many of our team members have the autonomy to choose where they want to work and when. While we have a global presence with physical offices in Paris, NYC, London, Sydney and Bucharest, we also offer many of our team members the option to work remotely either as fully remote or hybrid-remote employees. Please note that positions listed as "Remote" are only available for remote work within the specified country. Positions listed within a specific city are only available in that location - depending on the nature of the role it may be available with either a hybrid-remote or in-office schedule. ABOUT US: Algolia prides itself on being a pioneer and market leader offering an AI Search solution that empowers 17,000+ businesses to compose customer experiences at internet scale that predict what their users want with blazing fast search and web browse experience. Algolia powers more than 30 billion search requests a week – four times more than Microsoft Bing, Yahoo, Baidu, Yandex and DuckDuckGo combined. Algolia is part of a cadre of innovative new companies that are driving the next generation of software development, creating APIs that make developers’ lives easier; solutions that are better than building from scratch and better than having to tweak monolithic SaaS solutions. In 2021, the company closed $150 million in series D funding and quadrupled its post-money valuation of $2.25 billion. Being well capitalized enables Algolia to continue to invest in its market leading platform, to better serve its thousands of customers–including Under Armor, Petsmart, Stripe, Gymshark, and Walgreens, to name just a few. WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR: We’re looking for talented, passionate people to build the world’s best search & discovery technology. As an ownership-driven company, we seek team members who thrive within an environment based on autonomy and diversity. We're committed to building an inclusive and diverse workplace. We care about each other and the world around us, and embrace talented people regardless of their race, age, ancestry, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, color, veteran status, disability and socioeconomic background. READY TO APPLY? If you share our values and our enthusiasm for building the world’s best search & discovery technology, we’d love to review your application!
